New Pattern: Annika Wireless Bra

Say hello to the Annika Wireless Bra!
Picture
Supportive, beautiful and comfortable; these were my goals when designing this wire-free bra.  Style options range from a practical front opening, to lace overlays, a lace-up bridge and quilted cups.  Use sheer cup lining for barely-there fabric cups, or go for a covered cut-and-sew foam cup.  Ballet back options include a lace-covered band.

Scuba fused with tricot interfacing makes nice stable cups

Have fun with quilted cups using knit satin spandex over foam

A single-column hook and eye closure can be helpful with shoulder/arm mobility issues (my rotator cuff was much happier with this one!)

A clean finish is important to me, so I try to enclose or cover as many seams as possible for maximum comfort.

Question. Does the frame stay the same and only the cup change size within the same size frame.

For example- is the frame the same for the 34 A and the 34 K?

I have a very narrow breast root compared to my large cup volume. I am interested in a bra that adds volume in the form of projection instead of increasing the width of the “bowl/wireline” area of the bra.

Hi Michele,
The frame changes for each cup size, so 34A and 34K definitely have different shaping. This pattern is designed to have an integrated cup/frame, with only a cradle at the side and bridge in the very middle. For your shaping, I would suggest using a smaller cup size and adding projection. Hope that helps!
