I am so happy to share with you my new pattern, the Silvena Boyshort! My Tanja Boyshort pattern has become one of my best-selling patterns, so I wanted to create for you a boyshort specially designed to use beautiful stretch laces. Let's take a closer look. ![]() What makes the Silvena pattern special? You can use *any* width of stretch lace trim and adjust the rise length to fit your needs. Silvena can be made up in stretch lace alone, or a combination of lace and fabric. The main pattern piece is marked in increments (quarter inches for Imperial and half centimeters for Metric) from leg opening to natural waist to create guidelines for cutting. Silvena is super quick and easy to sew with just a few seams. SizesWaist: 26-50” / 66-127cm Hip: 35-60” / 89-152cm See size chart image for measurements of each size. Fabrics & TrimsSelf fabric: Stretch knits with at least 30% stretch. See Stretch Guide on pattern pieces. Suggestions: Cotton/spandex jersey, rayon/spandex jersey, bamboo/spandex jersey, stretch mesh. Gusset Lining: cotton jersey. If you don’t have any yardage, a men’s undershirt works well. Stretch lace trim. For Style A, minimum lace width is 7”/17.8cm for M sizes, and 8”/20.3cm for W sizes. Style B: elastic to finish waist edge. Fold over elastic (FOE) or a turned back elastic, such as picot edge elastic, may be used. If using a turned back elastic, be sure to add elastic allowance to your desired rise length. Printing OptionsAlong with the usual US letter/A4 paper printing option, for the first time I am including projector files! These files can also be printed on A0 paper.
For more information, see the Silvena Boyshort pattern listing. Until next time, Happy Sewing!
