Bikini or thong? Single string or double string? Lace overlays or printed jersey? The Sunflower Panty offers a variety of styling options to fill up your underwear drawer. The string bikini is one of my favorite panty styles, especially during the hottest time of the year. The sweltering heat makes me want as little fabric on my body as possible, and a string bikini is about as comfortably spare as I can get! I love finding ways to use up my knit fabric scraps, and these panties fit the bill! This style is also a great way to show off some pretty elastics and narrow laces. Pictured here is a double string thong (Style E) in a printed rayon/spandex with 1/2" stretch lace. So soft I can hardly feel it, and that is a must for me when wearing a thong! This single string bikini, Style A, is made from printed cotton/spandex scraps leftover from a tee shirt. Super soft and stretchy, and I used my favorite matte elastic for a bright finish. While I usually make my undies in natural fibers, I couldn't resist some of the pretty and fun scuba and liverpool prints. The Sunflower Panty is suitable for fabrics with at least 40% stretch, so it can be made in a wide variety ranging from jersey to lace to atheltic knits. Upper left (Style B) uses liverpool with matte elastic finish. Upper right (Style D) uses scuba with piping edge elastic. I love lace, and I try to include a lace overlay option with every pattern. Shown here is Style C, with a 4 1/2" wide lace over matte miliskin fabric and matte elastic finish.
